Chris's view

Across central Bolton and its inner suburbs, the typical home sold for £196,000, about 3% more than a year earlier. Terraced houses, the most common sale, rose the most, up around 7% to £155,000, and semis were up about 5%. That suggests steady demand at the more affordable end of the market. Half of all sales were under £200,000.

About these figures

  • Source: HM Land Registry Price Paid Data, standard residential sales at full market value (category A). Repossessions, buy-to-let company purchases and other non-standard transfers (category B) are excluded, as are duplicate records of the same sale.
  • These are all recorded sales in the area, by every agent and private sale. They are not Bowman Estates sales unless we say so.
  • Land Registry data runs behind the market. Sales typically appear a few weeks to several months after completion, and the latest month published here is August 2026.
  • Boundary: as described under "Area covered" above (postcode sectors with sales: BL1 1, BL1 2, BL1 3, BL1 4, BL1 5, BL1 6, BL1 7, BL1 8, BL2 1, BL2 2, BL2 3, BL2 4, BL2 5, BL2 6, BL3 1, BL3 2, BL3 3, BL3 4, BL3 5, BL3 6). Each postcode is counted on only one Bowman Estates sold-prices page, so no sale is double counted.
